A one-off marbled Properly Made Book filled with vintage ruled/lined paper.

As traditional as a book can be - a gold tooled leather spine, leather corners and marbled paper sides, this is a sophisticated, refined, low-key binding.

The marbled paper covers are antique, having been removed from an old broken binding and used once again on this book.

These antique marbled papers have been finished in the traditional way - burnished to a glossy finish and sealed with an old school shellac varnish which not only looks and feels wonderful, it also helps to protect the paper from damage and grubby finger marks!

Size - 6⅜ x 5⅜ inches, 163 x 136 mm

This book is crafted entirely by hand using exactly the same techniques and materials as all of our Properly Made Books, a beautiful book made to last.

Featuring a gold tooled chocolate brown leather spine, with an elegant pattern repeated down the length and solid gold lines on the cover sides, maching those on the leather corners.

Inside the binding are marbled endpapers, the pattern and colours being of the Dutch style.

The book is filled with 78 pages of ruled/lined writing paper, rescued and reused from an old writing book. The paper has a surface perfect for inks and pencils.

As with all Properly Made Books , this notebook opens totally flat and even beyond flat (the photo above showing the covers folded effortlessly back a full 360 degrees) ensuring it will withstand years of rigorous real-life, every day use.

This book features leather corners which not only look good, the leather serves a practical purpose too, helping to protect the edges when the book is being taken in and out of a pocket or bag - the beautiful yet tough leather helping to preserve the integrity of the most vulnerable part of the book for years to come.
