Project UPROOTED
During our unexpected stay in Aberdeen, in early 2025, I joined an open print studio called Peacock & Worm and decided to make a series of small scale prints on an antique Albion printing press.
The Albion, originally a school press in Aberdeen, and subsequently donated to Peacock, is very different to my GEM proofing press back home in Stromness. It works in a different way, with a pull lever rather than a large roller system.
My project is to produce a series of prints in various colour ways, and on various papers, new and antique, with a view to produce a limited series of 18 books holding the complete series.
This page will be updated with the prints made, as the project runs on.
