THE VPCo XL AGATE BURNISHER is a specialist tool used to polish paper, leather, vellum and fabrics. It is the largest agate burnisher in the world and can be used single or double handed to transform the properties of these materials.

It's basis lies in the ancient world, where burnishing paper by hand was an everyday task for bookbinders and papermakers, however, like many other techniques, hand burnishing fell by the wayside and was almost became a lost art untli VPCo reintroduced these magnificent tools.

Production of these sturdy tools ceased a number of years ago (due to the time and cost they took to make) however, due to demand from people finding our videos we are making one final, and very special edition for release in February/March -the v7. 

above is a v6 burnisher. The v7 will be similar but with upgraded handles and storage.

Vintage Paper Co Agate Burnishers are tools used in paper related crafts, most commonly bookbinding and printmaking.

The VPCo burnisher polishes and stengthens paper and other natural materials including leather, vellum/parchment, gold leaf and fabrics.
