This is a vintage handmade, 128gsm text/drawing weight paper made in the 1960s or early 1970s making it around 50 years old.
Originally produced as a writing or ledger paper, these have found great affection in more recent times as a premium quality paper for various fine-art techniques including watercolour, drawing, printmaking and bookbinding.
These laid, white sheets contain two watermarks and have a very mildly textured surface.
WS Hodgkinson were one of the great British papermakers, producing cotton rag sheets from 1610 until 1972 at Wookey Hole in Somerset, England
