This paper was made by WS Hodgkinson at the Wookey Hole mill in the 1950s from cotton rag (recycled clothes, sails etc).
Paper was made at the mill from the 1600s until the 1970s when economic conditions forced their closure.
This particular paper was due to be repulped and converted into South American currency but was saved at the last moment by the mill's in-house artists who bought it and kept it until his retirement a few years ago when we bought it from him.
