A big, fat, hefty, 398 page, totally handmade book for drawing and writing.

No other series of off-the-shelf books are made to this high standard.
BINDING STYLE & BOOK STRUCTURE
A superior style of binding called Tight-back or Flexible Binding with laced on boards and raised bands.
Tight-back or Flexible binding allows the book to open completely flat without damaging the book; very important when drawing and writing.
This type of structure makes the book incredibly strong and durable. Opening the book flat will, over time, cause the spine to crease but not break.
Tight Back or Flexible Bindings should not be mistaken for inferior Case Bindings.
The cover paper is English (Payhembury) marbled paper. It has been waxed and polished by hand with an agate stone which adds a certain amount of protection and durability.
The spine is made from calfskin leather, tanned in Edinburgh, Scotland. The finish on the spine is very unusual. It has been "plated" which means that a decorative pattern has been carved into a block of wood or other material, the leather dampened and pressed into the carved block under high pressure which leaves the pattern embossed on the surface of the leather. It has also been blind tooled (embossed without gold leaf) along the long edges of the spine.
