Our first sketchbooks we made in this style using two very pretty papers. These are slightly bigger than the newer ones listed in this site.
These pretty, soft covered sketchbooks are made in Orkney using a simple 'saddle stitch' method which means they've been stapled, much like an old-school exercise book.
Covered in a beautiful Japanese paisley Katazome paper and containing 24 sides of handmade 1950s cotton rag watercolour paper which is perfect for dry watercolour, drawing, ink, pencil etc.
Katazome paper is a hand stencilled traditional decorative paper from Japan. These are a very high quality handmade papers featuring elaborate and often traditional Japanese patterns and symbols.
The books measure 207 x 166 mm, 8 x 6 1/2 inches and contain 12 pages, 24 sides of handmade paper.
