Goatskin Manuscript Vellum. Single A5 sheets - prepared for ink and watercolour
Calligraphy and Botanical Watercolour Grade.
PRICE INCLUDES UK DELIVERY
This is goatskin vellum (aka parchment). It's an animal leather product, not vegan friendly, sorry.
Vellum/parchment is an ancient material. It was used thousands of years ago as a writing and drawing surface for letters, maps, bibles (with the wonderful illuminations) and legal documents.
The method of making it has largely stayed the same. This goatskin vellum is paper-thin but almost indestructible with a super smooth surface. It has a slightly different surface to the calfskin, it shows more pores but is still extremely smooth to the touch.
It is produced in Brazil by a family of vellum makers who have been making vellum parchment for over 100 years.
Supplied in single sheets in a pretty even white colour; all extremely smooth surfaced and wonderful for producing art on.
Calligraphy, illumination, botanical watercolour, digital inkjet printing (see below) and even traditional letterpress.
