One of a series of five highly decorative Properly Made Books
THESE BOOKS:
These exhibition standard bindings all feature exquisite gold tooling on leather.
THIS BOOK
A full leather binding filled with vintage handmade paper. The cover is highly decorated with gold tooling and leather onlays.
Leather onlays are micro-thin (approx 0.2mm) pieces of coloured and shaped leather adhered to the cover of a book, usually differing in color, grain, or both from the main covering leather. These are tooled in gold leaf, to create a pattern or an image.
Inside, this book features metal printed Dutch Gilt endpapers.

This book is housed in a bespoke box covered with more Dutch Gilt paper and lined with hand printed and coloured floral paper made on antique, text-printed handmade paper.
INSIDE: Vintage handmade imitation vellum paper by TH Saunders, dating from the 1950s.
This paper is perfect for use with inks, pencil and light watercolour washes.
LAYFLAT:
All Properly Made Books are made to open completely flat...
and beyond, opening a full 360 degrees, cover to cover, without causing any damage to the spine and giving complete access to the papery real estate.
SIZE: 2 x 3 inches inches
