The patterns and designs are copies of, or influenced by patterned, decorative papers from the 1600s and onwards.
TYPES OF PRINT
FANCY PRINTS are "top of the range", multiple process, multi-colour prints made on a variety of papers including vintage handmade, antique text printed paper (normally 200+ years old) and high quality, handmade, contemporary paper. Fancy prints are "top of the range", often taking many days to make.
ALPs (Antique Lining Papers) are simplified (and smaller) versions of Fancy Prints - made from the same hand carved lino blocks but printed in only one or two colours, often made on antique, handmade text printed papers. ALPS were devised as a range of cost effective decorative papers made for use in book related crafts. Of course they can be used in various other ways including being framed, decoupage, collage, lampshades, box covering and lining etc.
ALPS XL are large format, single colour lino relief prints made on tinted (hand painted) contemporary machine-made paper.
All of these prints can be used for a variety of purposes including bookbinding and box making, furniture decoration, interior design projects, picture framing and the general paper crafts.
