Vellum and Parchment

Vellum, also sometimes known as parchment is an ancient type of surface used in calligraphy, botanical watercolour, illumination and bookbinding.

It can also be used for letterpress, digital print and in interior design in a number of ways including wall coverings and lampshades.

Vellum is a processed animal skin - most commonly calf, goat and sheep. It is processed much in the same way as leather but the end product gives a white, smooth and very durable surface.
