This contemporary artisan style allows you to see the "workings" of a book.
A variation of French link stitch binding where the intricate stitching of the signatures is both functional and aesthetic; each signature is attached to the previous one creating a durable and strong structure.
PROCESS Hard covers are lined with decorative paper. The page paper is folded and gathered into signatures, trimmed, sewing holes punched and ribbons attached. The signatures are then sewn together using coloured linen threads in a pattern. The decorative covers are glued to the sewn book-block. The book is then weighted whilst it slowly dries.
There are many variations in the patterns, making each book unique.
